Its worth a shot to wear dots!

Polka dots have been around for a very long time, and now they are coming back to every girls wardrobe. The pattern has been around for quite a while, starting in the 50's and 60's. Lucy Arnaz was one woman that began to wear polka dot dresses in her show I Love Lucy. Polka dots can be seen as very classic and flirty. It definitely is a perfect pattern to wear during the summer. Instead of following the floral print or stripe sensation why not take a shot at wearing some dots.

Dont keep that hair bare!

When it comes to doing hair, most choose to stick to the same routine. Instead of being boring and keeping your hair bare, why not add cute accessories such as bobby pins, headbands, and clips! By adding accessories to your hair, you can add personality to your overall look. For example, adding a white flower (like #2) in ones hair with an outfit such as as jeans and a shirt, helps create individuality towards the outfit and can express femininity. With a new summer comes new fashion trends. One trend that has been flourishing is zippers. Zippers are now beginning to be seen on lots of clothes such as dresses, jackets, tights, pants, and skirts. Audrey Hepburn one of the most well known fashion icons plays a chauffers daughter in the 1954 film Sabrina. This movie is full of beautiful and classic fashion. Although Audrey Hepburn's character is somewhat naive and annoying she plays a young girl gripping for love. Her clothes throughout the movie are simple, delicate and flirty. Many of the items she wears are a huge essential in a girls closet today such as black leggings, black flats, and a black leotard.

Go Fishin'!

Although there are not many options on this page and the idea of fishnets can be trashy, if you wear them the right way they can totally work. Instead of the basic black, blue,or lace tights why not exlpore and try some fishnets. I recently wore some light peach color fishnets with a high waisted skirt and a basic white top and I am proud to say it was a cute outfit. Don't be afraid to try something different. If you wear a simple outfit like a skirt and flats it can look good but if you wear heels with them, then you might look like a hooker. Fishnets come in all different colors and all different styles. The 5 I chose are all different styles and can definitely come off as normal and not trashy. So go fishin' and get some fishnets and if they dont work out so well, send them off to goodwill...but I gurantee youll get a compliment or two.

Gidget

I decided to start doing some entries on iconic stylish women from movies. My first is Sandra Dee. I remember when I was about seven my mom made me watch the movie Gidget. I instantly fell in love with it and made her rent all the rest of the Gidget series and transfer them to VHS so I could watch them 24/7. If you have never heard of the movie Gidget it's based on a ambitious teenage girl who spends her summer at Malibu point where she meets a group of surfer guys. It was made in 1959. Her style is very cute, bubbly and flirty. With the film being set mostly on the beach, shoes are barely worn. She wears jumper bathing-suits, cute colorful bubble dresses, and simple but still classy cardigans. Next time you want to watch a cute classic movie rent Gidget, she exemplifies the confident, cute, but still tomboyish type of girl.
